茉莉醛又称α戊基肉桂醛,具有优雅的茉莉花香,是一种深受调香师喜爱的合成香料,已广泛应用于各种日用化妆品中.在碱性条件下,由苯甲醛与庚醛经醇醛缩合,制得茉莉醛,产率很低,其主要的副产物是庚醛的自缩合物2戊基△2壬烯醛.因此,合成茉莉醛要解决的主要问题是设法有效地控制副反应的发生,减少庚醛自缩合物的生成.等采用相转移催化法合成茉莉醛,产率高达85%以上,同时发现,茉莉醛与庚醛自缩合物沸点非常接近,用一般的减压蒸馏的方法得到的茉莉醛产品中可能含有一些庚醛自缩合物,这将严重影响茉莉醛的香气质量,因此需要有一种快速检测茉莉醛纯度的方法.
