Ethylene oxide (EO) is a broad-spectrum and efficient gas sterilization disinfectant, widely used in the disinfection of various medical devices, but ethylene oxide is a central nervous system depressant, stimulant, mutagenic, Toxicity and teratogenic properties, as a class of carcinogens, long-term exposure to the risk of cancer. In addition, the national standard GB 19083-2010 "Technical Requirements for Medical Protective Masks" also clearly stipulates that the residual ethylene oxide of masks sterilized by ethylene oxide should not exceed 10 μg g-1. Therefore, the determination of ethylene oxide in masks is very necessary.
