At present, the 4-aminoantipyrine method is the most widely used method for the determination of phenolic compounds in enviro nmental samples due to its high sensitivity. The lower limit of determination of phenolic compounds in water without chloroform extraction was 0.002 mg/l, but this method could not distinguish different phenols and their isomers. Because, using this method to e valuate the enviro nmental co ndition obviously has great limitations.
